GROUP IDEA

Privacy Policy

Your privacy matters to us. This page explains what personal data GROUP IDEA LTD collects when you visit our website or get in touch with us, why we collect it, and what rights you have over it.

Who we are

This website is operated by GROUP IDEA LTD, Letališka cesta 29A, 1000 Ljubljana, Slovenia (“GROUP IDEA”, “we”, “us”). GROUP IDEA is the data controller responsible for the personal data described in this policy, in line with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and applicable Slovenian and Serbian data protection law.

Scope of this policy

“Personal data” means any information that identifies or could identify you — whether you gave it to us directly, we collected it automatically, or we obtained it through the course of business. This policy covers data collected through our website and through direct contact with our business units (energy, agriculture and data infrastructure).

What data we collect automatically

Like most websites, ours exchanges some information with your device every time you visit. When you open groupidea.si, your browser automatically sends the following to our server:

  • Your IP address
  • The date and time of your visit
  • The page or file you requested
  • The site that referred you here, if any
  • Your browser type and operating system

We keep this information briefly in server logs to keep the connection stable, keep the site working properly, and check for security issues. Our legal basis for this is our legitimate interest under Article 6(1)(f) GDPR in running a secure, functioning website.

Data you give us directly

When you fill in a contact or careers form on this site, we collect what you enter — typically your name, email address, company, phone number, and the content of your message or CV. We use this only to respond to your enquiry, evaluate a job application, or otherwise follow up on the reason you contacted us. Our legal basis is either your consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR) or the steps needed to answer your request (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR).

Who we share data with

We do not sell, rent or trade your personal data. We may share it, only to the extent needed, with:

  • Other GROUP IDEA entities — our business units in energy, agriculture and data infrastructure share a common balance sheet and may need to exchange enquiry or applicant data internally for a legitimate business reason.
  • Service providers — companies that host our website, provide analytics, or support our IT systems, acting only on our instructions and only for that purpose.
  • Authorities — courts, regulators or law enforcement, where we are legally required to, or where necessary to protect our rights or the safety of others.

Any third party we work with is contractually required to protect your data to a standard consistent with the GDPR.

How long we keep your data

We keep personal data only as long as it serves the purpose it was collected for, or as long as the law requires us to. Contact form and job application data is generally reviewed and, where there is no ongoing relationship or legal reason to retain it, deleted within a reasonable period after the enquiry or application process concludes.

Cookies

Cookies are small files saved to your device when you visit a website. They don’t damage your device and don’t contain viruses. We use cookies to keep the site running smoothly and, where enabled, to understand in general terms how visitors use our site so we can improve it. You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings at any time; doing so may limit some site functionality.

Analytics

We may use website analytics services (such as Google Analytics) to understand, in aggregate and anonymised form, how visitors use our site — which pages are popular, how people arrive here, and similar patterns. Where used, IP addresses are shortened/anonymised before storage. This data is not combined with other information to identify you personally. You can opt out of most analytics tracking through your browser’s cookie settings or available opt-out browser extensions.

Links to other websites

Our site may link to other websites we don’t own or control, including project partner or client sites. We aren’t responsible for the privacy practices of those sites, and we encourage you to review their own policies.

Social media features

Where our site links out to or embeds features from social platforms (such as LinkedIn), interacting with those features may transmit data to that platform in line with its own privacy policy. We don’t control what those platforms do with that data once you’ve engaged with their embedded feature.

Your rights under the GDPR

If you are in the EU/EEA, you have the following rights over your personal data:

  • Access (Art. 15) — ask us what data we hold about you and why.
  • Rectification (Art. 16) — ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
  • Erasure (Art. 17) — ask us to delete your data where it’s no longer needed or you withdraw consent.
  • Restriction (Art. 18) — ask us to pause processing while a dispute about your data is resolved.
  • Portability (Art. 20) — ask for a copy of data you gave us, in a machine-readable format, or ask us to send it to another controller.
  • Objection (Art. 21) — object to processing based on our legitimate interest, on grounds relating to your particular situation.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details below. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your national data protection authority at any time.
